I wonder how simple it is to both business and go fishing consecutively? In theory at least, with modern technology it ought to be quite easy, after all, when one has popped to the fishing tackle shop and got all that will be needed for the day, the need to move around too much is reduced. One can therefore expect periods when little is going to happen and a fellow like me can do SEO and affiliate marketing work from anywhere, I do not really even need a 3G service to press on. If there is a service, all a chap really needs is a mi-fi device which works as a portable wireless router and far more sensible than a dongle as you are able of course connect smart phones, laptops or tablets to it.

No, if I hadn’t come across Joe Karbo as a nave youngster of about 18, I probably would not have crossed the radar of the Brothers Grim and I’d still have the three grand they conned out of me. Mind you, then I probably would never have discovered and learned search engine optimisation which I adore, but hey ho.

Becoming involved in affiliate marketing is not something to be done on a whim. You will most likely have been inundated by spam emails, tweets and I expect SMS messages too, promising amazing riches for working at home over the internet. Actually, it’s become so commonplace that comedians are able to make gags about them in the awareness that the crowd will know what they are talking about and receiving a laugh. And quite right too, because for the most part, these ads are targeted at getting a few charlies to sign up for a period, have a go, stick at it for a few months and then abandon it when they acknowledge that they do not and probably never will, make any cash.

Everything is evolutionary. Just as life organisms alter their physiology and sizes to suit their situations, adding or dropping limbs as the generations necessitate and learning capabilities that boost their future survival. Trade is the same, changing, modifying and discarding as times and needs stipulate, and the internet is the same. When I initially began using it, it was read-only. There was no interaction between a webpage and the user, which meant that almost no commerce could happen on it.

It has become a frequent line for comedians, mainly on television panel programmes, to make a gag of ads saying ‘work at home’ or ‘make riches on your computer’. They have a point, there are thousands of such ads and they are very simple to find on page after page. However, they are getting a tarnished name as they suggest the world, easy cash for little input and see the cash flood in! Alas not, the old saying “if it looks too good to be true, it definitely is” truly does apply here because what is not made clear is the same for anybody setting up a website for anything is that they need to comprehend, or know somebody who knows, SEO.

In the days of the gold rushes of California and the Witwatersrand in South Africa, when men dropped everything and headed for the goldfield districts as fast as their wagon trains could bear them, it is normally, and correctly, said that the only ones who really carved out their fortunes were the ones who supplied the prospectors. These were the suppliers of pickaxes, sieves, the bars, brothels and eating house owners. In later times, the same situation has applied as the service providers for internet businesses, the likes of eBay making facilities available for others to set themselves up. The same is happening for affiliate marketing provision and somebody wanting to get involved must be very careful, for a few reasons.
