Social media is constantly growing and making strides well on into the future. There is more to it than that.
Content Really Matters: Ever thought about why some websites really get the most exposure from social bookmarking sites when others do not? What is their secret for getting so many votes for other site members? How can you too hit the first page again and again and drive huge traffic to your site? The answer to these questions is not a secret, but many still refuse to understand it. Your content is the main component. Why do you think people go to social bookmarking sites? It is because they want new original information that is useful to them. People always want to get a lot of response from the bookmarks that they submit, but the information is never anything new or fascinating. The Internet is going through a phase of information overload. If you want to be noticed, then you have to give your targeted market some new information.
Not all Subjects will be Well Received: Even if you submit a good article to a social bookmarking site, there is no proof that you will land on the front page. When you see this occur, look at your submission and become familiar with your topic of choice. Some subjects might be fascinating, but probably a lot of people do not know about them. This might be because it is not a quality subject. Or, it could be that only a few people know about it. Whatever is happening, keep in mind that you have to look at a subject before putting it on a social bookmarking site.
Understanding when to post your links to a social bookmarking site is very important because this is what will indicate how quickly you will make it to the first page. So, if your post your bookmarks when your specified market is not awake, then your efforts will be wasted. Posting in the peak hours will help you get more leverage and will give you a better return on your time investment. If you want to post of site such as Digg and Reddit, then do not post links before ten in the morning. Rather, think about bookmarking your items at 2 or 3 if you expect to see good results. Usually, there is more traffic on the weekends than during the weekdays. But, then again, the competition will always remain high on Saturday and Sunday. So the only key to find out what time or day works the best for you is to go out there and experiment.
Pass your bookmarking work on to another person to do.
All social bookmarking sites can help you to drive the right kind of traffic to your blog and get you that jump to the next level. But, how you intend to make these sites beneficial for you will depend on how much time you are willing into seeing things through.
